The baseball, softball and volleyball Sunrise Mountain teams all lost Tuesday.  Baseball lost to Chaparral 12-1. Softball fell to Chaparral 15-7, and volleyball lost to Sky Pointe 3-0.

“We should start communicating more,” said junior and softball player Christabelle Garner. “We’ve definitely learned to work together more; we just need better communication skills.”

After what seems to have been a tough season for the softball team, she still ensures that the team is growing, talking to each other more, and working harder each game.

The volleyball team who has received more wins than the softball team and has a higher standing, has a similar approach.

“The team has grown far from the beginning,” said senior Anthony Proby-Jenson. “After the tournament last week, everyone has showed growth personally, and is taking an approach to learn new things.”

They’re emphasizing the main component as a team is trust despite the outcome, they’re going to persevere as a team which will ultimately make them stronger.

“We’re a family now,” said senior volleyball player De’Shaun Arthur. “We all trust each other, we’re fighting harder, and we plan on fighting all the way through for the games to come.”

The Miners baseball team feels the exact same way after their lost yesterday as well.

“I came from a bad school and made varsity here and my baseball team has made me want to be a better scholar,” said junior” Angelo De’Leon. “We’re going to work more on our errors, put our fundamentals that we know into play and communicate with each other in the future.”

Every team, despite their recent losses has grown individually and became closer with their members as they continue to play.

“Tomorrow I’m going to do what I do best. Trust the five players on the court with me because I can’t win this by myself.” Said Jenson
