Mr. Sexton is one of the newest teachers here at Sunrise Mountain, this year being his second year. He teaches boys PE and sometimes you can catch him selling Maruchan at lunch.

Sexton is from Norman, Oklahoma. Originally he was working at a behavioral school until he decided to come to Sunrise Mountain after realizing he wanted to start coaching again.

“I really wanted to coach so I came up here to Sunrise,” Sexton said.

The physical education teacher also believes that everyone can be successful if they want to and if they’re willing to put in the work. He encourages students to keep on going because even if it seems hard, you can do it!

Although he hasn’t been here long, he gets along with the students and they seem to like him and how he is as a coach.

“I don’t have him as a teacher but I can tell he likes to coach,” said sophomore Angie Garcia. “He’s very active, always walking around.”

“I have him this year he’s a funny teacher,” said sophomore Francisco Gonzales “His class is lit.”

The other teachers seem to like him too.

“I think he’s a good teacher,” said PE teacher Ms. Teague. “He’s fair and willing to work with others”.
