The Sunrise Mountain girls’ volleyball team picked up their second victory of the season Friday as they defeated Western in four games, 25-21, 13-25, 25-22, 25-14.

The Miners were led by senior Julia Miles, who had 10 killers.

“The game was really good, and also really competitive,” senior Destiny Chavez said with confidence.

The team’s first victory came against Virgin Valley earlier this season. Unfortunately the win doesn’t help them in their hopes of reaching the playoffs as Western is a non-conference opponent.

“It’s only hard if you make it hard, but it is honestly fun to play with the teammates,” added Chavez.
