The girls soccer team played their last home game Monday against Boulder City and ended Senior Night with a 5-4 victory.

Senior Brisa Caamano scored twice and senior Alexandra Trinidad added a goal and an assist in the win. Sophomore America Zacarias and junior Stephanie Plazola each scored once for the Miners to help lead them to the win.

The Miners ended the first half trailing 3-1, which is considered a challenging score to come back from. However, the Miners rallied in the second half.

“When the game is so tight and so close you just want to do everything you can to win,” said Plazola. “Being able to be on the scoring sheet is pretty satisfying.”

The Miners are down to one game left in the season and then it’s off to Class 3A Southern Region playoffs where it all comes down to the heart of the game.

“Our main focus is on the playoffs next because that’s our next important match,” said senior Fatima Carrillo-Cornejo.
