Girls’ volleyball team wrapped up their season Wednesday against Chaparral and almost pulled out a win to finish out the season, as the team fell in five games, 25-23, 12-25, 27-25, 11-25, 13-15.

The team finished the season with a 2-17 record (1-9 in the Sunrise League), but the team showed promise at different points, including a win over Virgin Valley earlier this season. They came close to getting another win over the Cowboys, who are going to the playoffs.

“In my opinion the game went good I had fun the whole team had fun we were enjoy ourselves,” said senior Destiny Chavez.  “For every point we had scored we had worked hard for it also everyone makes mistake but at the end of the day we did well.”

This team, under new head coach, Mr. Sexton, is just starting to build its program up.

“This season we tried our hardest, but also we had made some amazing memories that I will cherish for a long time especially since this is my last year of being part of the schools volleyball team,” said Chavez. “We didn’t only make memories, but we also improved by being team members — not just because of the games. we just helped each other and taught each other new things.”
