The girls’ varsity soccer team has shown tremendous improvements throughout the year. The Miners beat Sky Pointe, 4-2, securing the number 1 seed in the upcoming NIAA Class 3A Southern Region tournament. The girls face off against Del Sol on Wednesday, Oct. 31 at 4 p.m. at Bettye Wilson Park next to Cimarron-Memorial High School.

“It was great ending up on top of the table securing our spot, but it the grind doesn’t stop now,” said senior Alexandra Trinidad.

Trinidad scored two goals and assisted in another two. Senior Itati Urena scored another, while junior Stephanie Plazola added a goal and an assist. Senior Brisa Caamaro had an assist.

“We won the game but that doesn’t mean the grind doesn’t stop,” said Caamaro.” We need to redeem ourselves from last year.”
