The baseball team lost out to Boulder City, 18-3, on Senior Night last Thursday, Apr. 27, as they played their final game here on the mountain.

The first inning didn’t go so well as Boulder City scored nine runs, while the Miners only got back one in the bottom half of the frame.

Sebastian Leon, Eddie Casado, and Jamie Escobedo all scored one run each, one in the first inning and two in the fourth.

“It wasn’t the best feeling losing to such a big score on my last game for Sunrise,” said senior Leon. “But I had fun with the team through my high school career.”

The team struggled again in the second inning,  allowing more four runs as they found themselves down 13-1 after two innings, but they started fare better after that.

The team scored two more runs in the fourth inning, before the game ended after just five innings.

“It could’ve been a lot closer game if we didn’t start off so bad,” said senior Brain Ruiz. “ We picked out game up a little, but we should played like that from the start.”
