Miner Volleyball Falls In State Tournament

The Miner volleyball plays their last game of the season in a playoff match against second-ranked Mojave, falling in the Class 3A Region/State Touranment in the quarterfinals, 17-25, 13-25, 23-25. 

As sad as it is with their seniors playing their last home game on April 29, this is the seniors’ last game of their high school careers.

“It was really a sad moment finishing my final game for Sunrise,” said senior Johnny Pedraza, “ but volleyball wasn’t really my first sport so it didn’t affect me as much as soccer did.”

Miners volleyball played a good game getting closer of a score towards the end of the last two set.

“We had an alright game overall, we had a close third set and really we had it,” said junior Carlos Chavez. “But we had a lot of moments where we would play bad and let our guard down.
