Boys Basketball Adds Two More Victories To Standings

This past week the Sunrise mountain Boys Basketball team played against Chaparral and Sky Pointe High school and came out with a win in both of these games.

The first game of the week was here on the mountain against Chaparral. The final score for this game was 61-60.

This game came down to the fourth quarter when Chaparral was trying to make a comeback. They where down eight points, but the Miners defense was able to hold them off to get the win.

“It felt good to get this win we need to keep on playing hard to keep on winning,” said senior Link Rhodes.

The Miners second half effort helped them get the win as they scored 39 points.

The second game of the week was an away game at Sky Pointe. The final score for this game was 84-38.

This game was a complete domination for the Miners at half time. The Miners where already leading by 23 points. At half the score was 50-27.

“It was a great team win we played hard on defense and it resulted in points on offense,” said Rhodes.

The Miners where on a roll getting defensive stops and taking advantage on their offensive possessions. In the second half Miners scored 34 and Sky Pointe scored 11.
