Girls Basketball Falls To Boulder City, Virgin Valley

The Sunrise Mountain girls basketball team fell to both Boulder City and Virgin Valley during the week of Jan. 27th. The girls were winning at first, but lost motivation. Lady Miners are currently in 4th place with a 6-4 record at Class 3A Sunrise League.

Boulder City and Virgin Valley are above the Miners in those standings with Boulder City is currently at first place and Virgin Valley is currently one place above the Miners, which is 3rd place.

The Miners lost to Boulder City by 42-29 at home, while they also lost to Virgin Valley by a score of 46-34.

“I think we need to come out with the same intensity from the first quarter, and we can’t underestimated the other team,” said junior Cheryl Edenfield.

The Miners tried their hardest to win their game.

“I feel like our game with Boulder City, we just gave up at the end,” said sophomore Markaila McCurdy.

With the Miners loosing two games straight in a week, which brought them to third place.

Overall, the Miners are in a stable place to make it to the playoffs.
