We have finally made it to the end of the year, time to take a deep breath and release all the stress from the course of this school year.
It’s no secret that this school year was more than a little strange and overwhelming, but now that it’s coming to an end, it feels a bit surreal.
The constant cycle of waking up everyday and just looking at a screen with virtual classmates has become insanely repetitive and tiring.
With all the hours spent working on assignments, projects, and looking at a computer screen, this summer break has been well anticipated.
The pressure of keeping up with multiple assignments at one time while still being evolved in extra curricular activities virtually on top of dealing with any home issues has been a challenge for anyone to handle.
The virtual school year was a new adjustment for everyone all over the world to get used to, but I think over time we were able to work through it.
It will be refreshing to start waking up as late as I want and not having to worry about turning in a 600-word essay by 11:59 p.m.
This change of pace is very much needed. I spent most of my days going to school, submitting work, going to bed, then repeating this for the next five days a week.
I didn’t really take the time to care and improve myself, but this summer will be my time to accomplish all that I pushed off during the school year.
Getting a job, a driving permit, working on my physical and mental health, and even changing up my clothing style.
It’ll be very exciting since this is my last summer before I graduate high school which is crazy to think about. It still feels like I was just a sophomore walking around school with no mask, but soon I’ll be going into my senior year.
I plan to make the most of this summer especially, hanging out more with my friends will definitely be a top priority because I haven’t seen much of them since quarantine began.
Creating new memories to make up for the lack of experiences I had last summer and this school year.
This break will give not only me, but everyone who had to experience some sort of online education, a moment to de-stress.
Although it’s being said that the 2021-2022 school year will be going back to normal, it’s still uncertain because anything can happen over the summer.
Hopefully, this next school year will be better than the last. Hopefully, I’ll be able to fully experience all the fun senior activities that would happen normally before the pandemic hit.
With that being said, this virtual learning school year has been intriguing, but great nonetheless and I’m ready to see how this next year will go.
